Traveling
Well, it finally happened. I decided to leave my cush job as an illustrator/ designer and head west. I grew up in New England, and love it here, but it is definately time to move on. I have no idea where I'll really end up, or what I'll be doing, but for now I plan to take a road trip from mid-August through the end of October, hoping to end up in Portland and begin there by temping.How will I do it? Well, I have this tiny bit of cash saved, just enough to pay for gas and peanut butter and jellies. My car is an 87 Chevy Nova, which was back when Toyota was making them, so it's essentially a Toyota Corolla. Which means it will last forever, though it has 160,000 miles on it and the gas tank should really be replaced. but we'll see.
If it dies, I'll hitch. And that's how it goes.
I may not be able to visit everyone on the route, the road can bring strange turns, but I will do my best. As well, I'm going to be really broke, so I won't be able to really afford to do much or even eat out, but just sitting around talking is great by me.
i can sleep pretty much anywhere, though I am 6'3", so kid-sized beds don't work. But I'm used to my feet always hanging off even in my own bed, so I'm pretty easy-going. I'll even have my own bedding, so floor space is fine.
I am a vegetarian. Which means no red meat, no chicken, no fish. I do eat dairy and cheese and eggs and all that. I am currently off of coffee, and don't drink much alcohol (though if I do, my pref is hard cider). I am allergic to soy-sauce and generally asian cuisine of any sort doesn't sit well in my stomach (with the exception of India). Hmmm... I know that's limiting, but I'm afraid that's me.
And that's it. I'm a gentle, kind, curious person. And always up for an adventure.
