The following strip is a tribute to matthew Shepard who was murdered
by two men out of hatred for the fact he was gay. A hate crime to me is
just one of the most horrible nightmares imaginable. May he rest in peace.
And below are responses I recieved in response to the strip.
I wished to post them so that anyone feeling similar pain would
possibly feel less alone.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you . . .
words are inadequate to express it. Thank you.
-Susan
I read about Matthew Shepherd in a cafe on Sunday
and got the dry heaves. Yesterday I told my partner
Matthew had died, in almost the same words Bruno
used... thanks for making such sense as can be made.
-Rachel
Thank you so much for the strip about Matthew Shepard.
When I first heard the news on the radio, I cried,
and then got furious. When I heard he had died, I
was beyond reason. Thank you for using the skills you
craft so beautifully to tribute this man, his memory,
so well.
-Lisa
Thank you.
-Claudia
Thanks for the strip today. I think anyone
with the ability to speak out and does is
someone to be admired.

In response to the extra strip on Matthew Shepard's
vicious death at the hands of some very sick
individuals, I just wanted you to know that my
respect for you has increased.
Sincerely,
-Jim
Just wanted to say thanks for the special Wednesday
10-14 strip. A telling answer to the lunacy of the
deed; unfortunately, it'll go over the heads of the
people who perpetrate such acts.
-Terry
Thanks for your nod to the Matthew Shepard murder.
-Russell
...I love today's strip regarding Matthew Shepard.
Thanks for doing the strip for a very pained
community.
Peace and thanks,
-Kathy
